Set an expiry date

  1. Add a document, or open one and click Edit.
  2. Under What it is, pick a day in Expires on.
  3. In Remind me, choose when to be reminded, from 1 week before to 3 months before. The default is 1 month before.
  4. Click Save.

You can also change the date on the document’s page: click Expires at the top.

Leave Expires on empty for a document that never ends.

How Skileo reminds you

When the reminder time comes:

  • A number appears next to Documents in the menu. It counts the documents that end soon or have ended.
  • In the list, the document shows how soon it ends: Tomorrow, Ends today, or a number of days.
  • After the day, it shows Expired.

Skileo doesn’t send an e-mail about expiry dates. Check the number next to Documents in the menu.

Find the documents that end soon

  1. Open Documents.
  2. Click Show filters and choose Expiry.
  3. Choose Expiring or expired, Expiring soon, Expired or With an expiry date.

To see the dates in the list, click Customize columns and add the Expires column.

When the document is renewed

Open the document and click Edit. Replace the file with the new one, and set the new date in Expires on. The document leaves the count until its next reminder.

Common questions

How do I make the number in the menu go away?

Set a new date, remove the date, or delete the document. An expired document stays in the count until you do.

Who sees the number?

The Business owner and every Member with the Documents permission. Each person counts only the documents they can see.

Can employees see the expiry date?

Yes, on the page of a document shared with them. But they get no reminder: the number in the menu is only for the people who manage documents.

Does a copy keep the expiry date?

Yes. A copy ends on the same day as the document it was copied from.
