Associate without sharing
Associating a person files the document on their profile. Sharing is what lets them open it.
To keep a document on someone’s profile without showing it to them, turn the share switch off. The switch then says Off: only people who manage documents can open it.
Who gets an e-mail
- When you add a shared document: every person it is shared with.
- When you turn sharing on later: every person it is shared with.
- When you add people to a shared document: only the new people.
Changing anything else sends no e-mail.
Stop sharing
Open the document, click Edit, and turn the share switch off. You can also remove the person from Associate with. They can no longer open the document.
