# Share a document with an employee or a candidate

Choose the people in Associate with, then keep the share switch on. They get an e-mail and can open the document in their own Skileo space.

## Share a document

1. Add a document, or open one and click “Edit”.
2. Under “Filed under”, choose the people in “Associate with”.
3. Under “Access”, check that the share switch is on. It turns on by itself as soon as you choose someone.
4. Click “Save”.

Each person gets an e-mail with a link to the document. They also find it in “Documents”, in their own Skileo space.

In Recruiting, you choose among the candidates. In the other softwares, you choose among the employees.

## Associate without sharing

Associating a person files the document on their profile. Sharing is what lets them open it.

To keep a document on someone's profile without showing it to them, turn the share switch off. The switch then says “Off: only people who manage documents can open it.”

## Who gets an e-mail

- When you add a shared document: every person it is shared with.
- When you turn sharing on later: every person it is shared with.
- When you add people to a shared document: only the new people.

Changing anything else sends no e-mail.

## Stop sharing

Open the document, click “Edit”, and turn the share switch off. You can also remove the person from “Associate with”. They can no longer open the document.
