Let clients pay an invoice online

Connect Stripe

Online payments go through Stripe. You need a Stripe account.

1. Open Settings, Payment providers.
2. Next to Stripe, click Connect and follow Stripe’s steps.
3. Back in Skileo, turn on Enable for invoices.

Only the Business owner can connect or disconnect Stripe.

The invoice page

Each invoice has its own page. Your client opens it with the link in your e-mail, without an account. See Send an invoice by e-mail.

The page shows:

• Your logo and the name of your company.
• The invoice, with a Download button.
• The Pay button, when Stripe is connected and turned on for invoices.
• The payments already made, and what is still due.

Your client can change the language of the page.

To open the page yourself, click the actions button (⋮) on the invoice’s line and choose Open public link.

How your client pays

1. Your client clicks Pay.
2. They choose the amount: Unpaid balance, or Partial payment with an amount up to what is due.
3. They choose Credit Card or Direct debit (SEPA), a one-time debit from their bank account.
4. They type their name and e-mail address.
5. They type their card or bank account details and confirm.

After the payment

• A card payment is recorded at once. The invoice turns Partially paid or Paid.
• A direct debit takes longer. Your client sees that the payment is being processed. Skileo records it when Stripe confirms it.
• Skileo sends an e-mail to the Business owner and to each Member with Invoicing set to Write.
• The payment shows in the invoice’s payment history. It can’t be changed or deleted in Skileo.

When nothing is due any more, the button reads Already paid.
