Create the invoice from the quote

  1. Open Quotes in the menu.
  2. Click the actions button (⋮) at the end of the quote’s line and choose Create invoice. On the quote page, click Create invoice.
  3. The invoice form opens, filled from the quote. Check it and complete it.
  4. Click Create invoice.

Nothing is saved before you click Create invoice. See Create a sales invoice for each part of the form.

What comes from the quote

  • The client, the currency and the language.
  • The lines and the discount.
  • Your international company details, if the quote uses them.
  • The quote’s files, under Additional documents. Remove the ones you don’t need. The invoice gets its own copy of each file, and the quote keeps its files.

What you fill in

  • Document date: today at first.
  • Invoice number: the next number of your series. With several series, Skileo takes the first one. Choose another in Document series if you need.
  • Due date: empty at first.
  • Preferred payment method: Other at first.
  • Message to the client (appears on the invoice): empty at first.

What happens to the quote

The quote doesn’t change: it keeps its status and its content. If you want its status to show that it is done, change it yourself. See Change the status of a quote.

You can make several invoices from the same quote, for example to bill it in parts. Change the lines of each invoice to match.

Common questions

Can I invoice a quote the client hasn't accepted?

Is the quote linked to the invoice?
