Create a note

  1. Open Notes in the menu.
  2. Click New note at the top right of the page.
  3. Type a title, then your text below it.
  4. Close the note when you are done.

The note is created as soon as it has a title or some text. While you type, the top of the note shows Saving…, then Saved.

A new note is visible to every Business owner and every Member of your workspace. To change that, see Choose who can see a note.

Add the details

Between the title and the text, click a detail to change it:

  • Visible to: who can read the note.
  • Linked to: the employees or candidates the note is about, up to 50 people. Click a name to open their profile.
  • Tags: words to group and find notes. A new word becomes a tag of your workspace.
  • Shows in: the software where the note shows. See below.
  • Colour: the colour of the note’s card. Everyone who sees the note sees the same colour.

Choose where the note shows

A new note shows in the software you create it in. To show it elsewhere too:

  1. Under the title, click Shows in.
  2. Tick Every module, or each software where the note should show, then close the list.

Shows in is only there when your workspace uses more than one software.

Who can write notes

Every Business owner and every Member. Notes need no permission of their own.

Common questions

Is there a Save button?

No. The note is saved a moment after you stop typing. If a save fails, the top of the note shows Not saved: click Try again.

What happens if I close a note without typing anything?

Nothing is created. A note needs a title or some text.

Can I link a note to an employee or a candidate?

Yes, in Linked to. A Member can link only the people they are allowed to see: employees if they have access to employees, candidates if they have access to applications.

Does linking a note to someone show it to them?

No. Linked to only says who the note is about. Visible to decides who can read it.
