Write and format a note
Use the toolbar above the text for bold, italic, underline, links and lists. Undo and Redo are at its left, and the note saves itself as you type.

Format the text
- Select the text.
- Click a button in the toolbar above the text:
- Bold, Italic or Underline.
- Link: type the address and click Save.
- Ordered list or Bullet list.
- Clear formatting: removes the formatting of the selected text.
The Hide text button at the end of the toolbar hides a password. See Hide a password in a note.
Undo and redo
- Undo (Ctrl+Z, or ⌘Z on a Mac) takes back your last change to the text.
- Redo (Ctrl+Y, or ⇧⌘Z on a Mac) does it again.
Both buttons are at the left of the toolbar. They work until you close the note.
To put the whole note back as it was when you opened it, click Undo changes at the top of the note. This brings back the title, the text, who can see it, the people it is linked to, the tags, where it shows and the colour. Click Undo in the message to get your changes back.
How saving works
The note is saved a moment after you stop typing. The top of the note shows where it is:
- Unsaved changes: your last change is waiting to be saved.
- Saving…, then Saved.
- Not saved: the save failed. Click Try again.
A title can have up to 255 characters, and the text up to 200,000.
When someone else changes the note
Everyone who can see a note can edit it. If someone saves it while you are writing, the top of the note shows Changed by someone else and your changes are not saved yet. Choose:
- Use their version: your changes are dropped.
- Save mine over theirs: your version replaces theirs.
Common questions
What if I close the note before it is saved?
Skileo saves it first. If the save fails, Skileo asks before closing the note without your last changes.
Can I undo after I closed the note?
Undo works only while the note is open. When you open it again, it starts over.
Do the pin and the colour count as changes?
No. Pinning a note or changing its colour does not change its Updated date.
Where can I see who changed the note last?
At the bottom of the note, under Details: who created it and who updated it last, with the dates.
