Copy a purchase invoice
Use a copy for a bill that comes back with the same supplier, category and lines.
- Open Finances › Purchase invoices in the menu.
- Click the actions button (⋮) at the end of the line and choose Copy.
- The copy opens in the form. Change what you need, such as the number and the amounts, and click Save changes.
The copy is saved as soon as you choose Copy. If you don’t want it, delete it.
The copy keeps the supplier, the category, the lines, the payment method and the schedule of the original. It is dated today and has nothing paid. It doesn’t keep:
- the supplier’s PDF and the other files;
- the team or employee the expense is for.
If the original has a document number, the copy gets a new one. Type the number of the new invoice.
A copy of a draft is a draft, and a copy of a void purchase invoice is void.
Delete a purchase invoice
- Click the actions button (⋮) at the end of the line and choose Delete.
- Confirm.
The purchase invoice goes to the Trash, where it shows as Invoice. You can restore it from there. See How the trash works.
To delete several purchase invoices at once, tick them in the list and choose Delete at the top.
Common questions
Why is {ui:common.action.delete} missing on a line?
The purchase invoice is paid or partly paid. Delete its payments first, on the page of the purchase invoice. See Record a payment on a purchase invoice.
Should I delete or void a purchase invoice?
Void it to keep a trace of it: it stays in the list, greyed out, and is not counted. Delete it when it should not be there at all, such as one added twice.
Does a copy of a repeating purchase invoice repeat too?
Yes. To stop it, turn off Enable recurrence in the copy before you save it.
Can I get a deleted purchase invoice back?
Yes, from the Trash, as long as nobody deleted it for good. See Restore a deleted item.
