# Write with AI

Click the sparkle on a text field to fix spelling, rephrase, or change the tone or length of your text. In Messages it can also suggest a reply. You read the result before you save or send it.

## Rewrite your text

1. Type your text in the field.
2. Click “Write with AI”: the round sparkle at the bottom left inside the field. In Messages, it is next to the emoji button.
3. Choose what to do:
   - “Fix spelling and grammar”: corrects mistakes and changes nothing else.
   - “Rephrase”: says the same thing in other words. Click it again for another version.
   - “More formal” or “More friendly”: changes the tone.
   - “Shorter” or “Longer”: changes the length, without adding facts.
4. The new text replaces yours in the field. Read it, change what you want, then save or send as usual.

While it works, the button shows “Writing…” Nothing is saved or sent for you.

## Suggest a reply in Messages

1. Open a conversation in “Messages”.
2. Click the sparkle next to the emoji button.
3. Choose “Suggest a reply”.

It drafts your next message from the latest messages of the conversation, in the language of the conversation. If you have started typing, it builds on what you wrote. It works with an empty box too.

## Undo a rewrite

Click “Undo” in the message that appears, “Text rewritten”. In an editor with a toolbar, Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on a Mac) also takes the rewrite back in one step.

If the rewrite fails, your text stays exactly as it was and a message says so.

## Where you find it

On the text fields where you write for other people: task descriptions and comments, notes, Messages, e-mails to candidates and message templates, documents, invoice and quote messages, comments and ratings on candidates and employees, surveys and suggestions, job offers and your company profile.

## Common questions

### Which language does it write in?

The language of your text. It never translates it. A suggested reply is in the language of the conversation.

### Why is the button grey?

Point at it to read why. The field may be empty: type some text first. Or AI writing is off for your workspace: “Your workspace owner turned Write with AI off”, “Write with AI comes with paid plans” or “Write with AI is not available yet”. See [Turn AI writing on or off](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/turn-ai-writing-on-or-off).

### Is there a limit?

Yes, 100 rewrites per person per day. After that, a message says “You've used today's AI rewrites”, and you can use it again the next day.

### Where does my text go?

The text of the field is sent to the AI provider Skileo works with, Mistral AI or OpenAI, to be rewritten. The provider does not use it to train its models. The workspace owner sees which one under “Settings”, on the “AI” tab. Skileo does not keep your text: it only counts how many times you used the button that day.

### What happens to merge fields such as [candidate_first_name]?

They are kept as they are. If a rewrite leaves one out, the message names it so you can put it back, or click “Undo”.

### What about hidden text in a note?

The hidden value is never sent, only its place in the note. If a rewrite leaves it out, the rewrite is not used and the note stays as it was.

### Who can use it?

Every “Business owner” and every “Member” of a workspace where AI writing is on. Employees and candidates do not see it.
