# Restore a deleted item

To get back something you deleted, open Trash in the menu, find the item and choose Restore. It returns to its usual place, unchanged, with its attached files.

## Restore one item

1. Open “Trash” in the menu.
2. Find the item. Search by its name, or use the “Type” filter to show one type, such as invoices.
3. Click the actions button (**⋮**) at the end of its line and choose “Restore”.

A message confirms it, and the item is back in its own list: an invoice in Invoices, a task in Tasks, and so on.

## Restore several items at once

A “Business owner” can restore many items in one go:

1. Tick the box in front of each item, or the box at the top of the list to select every item on the page.
2. Choose “Restore” in the bar that appears above the list.

A “Member” restores items one at a time, from each item's actions button.

## Where restored items go

An item goes back exactly where it was, with its details and attached files. One exception: if a document's folder was deleted in the meantime, the document comes back at the top level of “Documents”.

## Common questions

### Why can't I restore an item?

You need permission to make changes in the part of Skileo the item belongs to, for example invoices for an invoice. Without it, the item has no actions button. Ask the “Business owner” of your workspace, who can restore anything.

### Some items could not be restored. What now?

Skileo restores the others and leaves those items in the trash. Reload the page: someone may have restored or deleted them already. If they are still there, try again, or contact us.

### Can I restore a deleted quote?

No. Quotes are deleted for good straight away and never go to the trash. See [How the trash works](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/how-the-trash-works).
