# Make an invoice repeat

Turn on Create a recurring invoice and choose the schedule. When a date comes, click Add new › Generate recurring in Sales invoices. Skileo makes draft copies for you to number and send.

## Set the schedule

1. Create the invoice, or open it with “Edit”. See [Create a sales invoice](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/create-a-sales-invoice).
2. In “Repeat”, turn on “Create a recurring invoice”.
3. In “Repeat”, choose how often:
   - Weekly: tick the days in “Weekly schedule”.
   - Monthly: choose the “Day” of the month, or the last day, and the months in “Monthly schedule”. Choose every month if you bill each month.
   - Yearly: the invoice repeats each year on the date of the invoice.
4. Save the invoice.

Skileo works out the date of the next copy.

## Make the copies

Skileo doesn't make the copies by itself. When a date comes, make them yourself:

1. Open “Finances” › “Sales invoices” in the menu.
2. Click “Add new” and choose “Generate recurring”.
3. The window shows how many copies are due, today or before.
4. Click “Generate”.

Each copy is a draft without a number. The copy now carries the schedule: the invoice it comes from stops repeating.

Skileo makes up to 1,000 copies at a time. If more are due, click “Generate” again.

## Finish each copy

1. In the list, turn on “Drafts only”.
2. Open each draft with “Edit”.
3. Check it, give it a number, and save it. It becomes “Not paid”.

> **Good to know**
> Don't delete a draft copy before you save it. Its schedule goes with it, and Skileo can't make that copy again. To start the schedule again, turn on “Create a recurring invoice” on the last invoice of the series.

## Stop an invoice from repeating

1. In the list, turn on “Recurring only”. It shows the invoices that carry a schedule.
2. Open the invoice with “Edit”.
3. Turn off “Create a recurring invoice” and save.


## Common questions

### Does Skileo send repeating invoices by itself?

No. Skileo neither makes nor sends the copies by itself. Click “Generate recurring”, then send each copy once you have saved it.

### Why does “Generate recurring” make nothing?

No date has come yet. The window says so, and its button stays off.

### Which invoice carries the schedule?

The latest copy. Turn on “Recurring only” in the list to find it.

### Can purchase invoices repeat too?
