# Make an expense or an income repeat

In the form, open Repeat, turn on Enable recurrence and choose the schedule. Copies are made when someone clicks Generate recurring in Sales invoices. Each copy is a draft.

## Set the schedule

1. Open the purchase invoice or the income, or start a new one. See [Add a purchase invoice](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/add-a-purchase-invoice) or [Add an income that is not a sales invoice](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/add-an-income).
2. In the “Repeat” section, turn on “Enable recurrence”.
3. Choose how often in “Repeat”:
   - Weekly: choose the days in “Weekly schedule”.
   - Monthly: choose the “Day” of the month, and the months in “Monthly schedule”.
   - Yearly: the record repeats every year on its “Document date”.
4. Save the form.

## How the copies are made

Skileo doesn't make the copies on its own. Someone has to start them:

1. Open “Finances” › “Sales invoices” in the menu.
2. Click “Add new” and choose “Generate recurring”.
3. Skileo shows how many copies are due today. Click “Generate”.

This makes the copies of every repeating record that is due: sales invoices, purchase invoices and incomes alike.

Each copy:

- is a draft. It is not counted in your finances until you save it;
- has no number, is dated the day it is made and has nothing paid;
- has no PDF;
- carries the schedule on. The record it was copied from stops repeating.

## Complete the copies

1. In “Purchase invoices”, click “Show filters” and turn on “Drafts only”.
2. Click the actions button (**⋮**) of a copy and choose “Edit”.
3. Check it, add the supplier's PDF and the number, then click “Save changes”.

Copies of an income show in the “Financial records” list of the finances overview.

> **Good to know**
> Don't delete the newest copy: it carries the schedule. If you delete it, the record stops repeating, and you have to turn on the schedule again on the last record you kept.

## Stop a record repeating

The schedule is always on the newest record of the series. For a purchase invoice, turn on the “Recurring only” filter in “Purchase invoices” to find it. For an income, open its newest copy in the “Financial records” list.

Open the record, turn off “Enable recurrence” and save.

## Common questions

### Who can make the copies?

Anyone who may add invoices: the “Business owner”, or a “Member” with “Invoicing” set to “Write”.

### What does a sales invoice copy look like?

The same: a draft without a number. See [Make an invoice repeat](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/repeat-an-invoice).
