# Hire a candidate

Move the application to the Hired stage and fill in the hiring date, the evaluation period and the salary. The person becomes an employee in Human resources.

## Hire the candidate

1. Open the application and click “Move to”, then choose the Hired stage.
2. In the “Change Status” panel, fill in:
   - “Hiring date”: the first working day.
   - “Evaluation Period End”: the end of the trial period.
   - “Ending”: the end of the contract, for a fixed-term contract. Leave it empty otherwise.
   - “Net salary” and “Gross salary”, and the salary “Type”.
3. To e-mail the candidate, turn on “Send notification email?” when it shows. See [E-mail a candidate when you move their application](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/email-a-candidate-when-you-move-them).
4. Click “Change Status”.

You can also drag the card to the Hired column on the board: the panel opens first.

## What happens next

- The application stays in “Applications”, at the Hired stage.
- The person becomes an employee in “Human Resources”. They show in “Employees” and in “Onboarding”.
- When you fill in both salaries, Skileo also creates their position from the job offer: its title, seniority level, department and contract type, with the dates and salaries you typed.
- On their side, the candidate sees their application under Hired.

> **Tip**
> Fill in both the net and the gross salary. Without both, the employee has no position in “Human Resources”, and you will add it there yourself.

## Common questions

### Skileo says the person was already hired. Why?

A person can be hired only once in a workspace. They are already an employee, through another application.

### Can I hire someone who is leaving the company?

Not while they are still in offboarding. Wait for their last day.

### Can I undo a hire?

Move the application to another stage. The person then leaves the list of employees. On the board, “Undo” is not offered for a hire.
