# Find, pin and export notes

Use the search and the filters on the Notes page, as cards or as a list. Pin a note to keep it at the top for everyone who sees it.

## Cards or list

“Notes” shows the notes you can see: yours, the notes visible to everyone, and the notes shared with you. It lists only the notes of the software you are in and the notes set to “Every module”. The last updated come first.

Switch the view at the top of the page:

- “Cards”: one coloured card per note, with its title, the start of its text, who it is about, its tags and its date.
- “List”: one line per note, with “Tags”, “Linked to”, “Who can see” and “Updated”.

Skileo remembers your choice. Click a note's title to open it.

## Search and filter

- **Search**: type words to find them in the title and the start of the text (the first 500 characters).
- **Filters**: click “Show filters” to filter by “Tags”, “Linked to”, “Written by” or “Pinned”.
- **Tags**: click a tag on a note to see only the notes with that tag.

## Pin a note

- On a card, click the pin at the top right. Point at the card to see it.
- In the list, click the actions button (**⋮**) at the end of the line and choose “Pin”.
- In an open note, click “Pin” at the top.

Pinned notes come first, under “Pinned”. A pin is the same for everyone who sees the note. Do the same again to unpin it.

## Change a card's colour

Point at the card and click the round colour button next to the pin, then choose a colour. In an open note, click “Colour”. Everyone who sees the note sees the same colour.

## Export notes

1. Search or filter the list to show the notes you want.
2. Click “Export” at the top right of the page.
3. Tick the columns to include and click “Confirm”.

Skileo downloads a CSV file of the notes shown, which you can open in a spreadsheet. Hidden text shows as ••••••.

## Common questions

### Why can't I find a note?

It may show in another software, or not be shared with you. The search looks only in the title and the start of the text, and a filter may hide the note.

### Are the notes different in each software?

Yes. Each software shows its own notes and the notes set to “Every module”. A note's “Shows in” says where it shows. See [Create a note](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/create-a-note).

### Can I see a colleague's notes?

Only the notes they made visible to everyone or shared with you. Use “Written by” to see the notes one person wrote.
