# Find a financial record or a payment

In the finances overview, switch between Financial records and Recorded payments. Filter or search the list, then use ⋮ on a line to edit, pay, copy or delete.

## The two lists

Open “Finances” › “Overview” in the menu. At the top, choose a list:

- “Financial records”: every record of your workspace. Sales invoices, credit notes, incomes and purchase invoices, drafts included.
- “Recorded payments”: every payment recorded on these records.

## Financial records

Each line shows:

- “Description”: the number and category of the record, and the contact's name. A paperclip means the record has attachments. On a sales invoice or a credit note, the eye button opens a preview.
- “Date”.
- “Amount”: + for an income, − for an expense, with an icon for the payment method.
- “Contact”.
- “Status”.

The newest records come first. To change a record, click its number.

To find a record:

- Click “Search” and type part of its number, its description or its internal note. The contact's name is not searched: use the “Contacts” filter.
- Click “Show filters” to filter by “Reporting period”, “Contacts”, “Category”, “Payment method” or “Type” (income or expense).

## What you can do with a record

Click the actions button (**⋮**) at the end of the line:

- “Edit”: opens the record's form. A sales invoice opens the invoice form, an income the income form, and so on.
- “Record payment”: when something is still due. See [Record a payment on a purchase invoice](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/pay-a-purchase-invoice).
- “Copy”: the copy shows in the list.
- “Delete”: the record goes to the “Trash”, where you can restore it. See [How the trash works](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/how-the-trash-works). A sales invoice with a payment can't be deleted.

To delete several records at once, tick them and choose “Delete” at the top.

## Recorded payments

Each line shows:

- “Date”: the day of the payment.
- “Amount”: + for money received, − for money paid.
- “Payment method”.
- “Related record”: the record that was paid. Click it to open the record in a new tab.

Click “Show filters” to filter by “Type”, “Payment method” or “Currency”. This list has no search.

Click the actions button (**⋮**) of a payment:

- “Edit”: change a payment that was recorded by hand.
- “Delete”: remove the payment. The record is due again.

## Add a record

Click “Add new” and choose:

- “Add income”: see [Add an income that is not a sales invoice](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/add-an-income).
- “Add purchase invoice”: see [Add a purchase invoice](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/add-a-purchase-invoice).
- “Create invoice”: see [Create a sales invoice](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/create-a-sales-invoice).
- “Import”: incomes or expenses from a CSV file. See [Add an income that is not a sales invoice](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/add-an-income).

## Common questions

### Can I download the list?

Not from the overview. Use “Export” in “Sales invoices” or “Purchase invoices”. The file follows your filters.

### I deleted a payment by mistake. Can I get it back?

No. A deleted payment doesn't go to the “Trash”. Record the payment again.

### Why can't I change or delete some payments?

Payments made online and the amounts of credit notes are recorded by Skileo. You can't change them, and you can't delete them here.

### Why is there no actions button on a line?

You may only see the finances: changing them needs a permission. See [Who can see and change finances and invoices](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/who-can-see-finances). The invoices of your Skileo subscription have no actions button either.
