# Empty the trash

A business owner can delete everything in the trash at once with the Empty trash button. Every item is erased for good, including the ones your search or filter hides.

## Empty the trash

1. Open “Trash” in the menu.
2. Click “Empty trash” at the top right of the list.
3. Read the warning, then confirm with “Yes, delete it!”

Every item in the trash is now deleted for good, with its attached files.

> **Good to know**
> Emptying the trash deletes every item in it, also the ones your search or “Type” filter hides at that moment. To remove only some items, select them and [delete them for good](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/delete-items-for-good) instead.

## Who can empty the trash

Only a “Business owner”. A “Member” doesn't see the “Empty trash” button, but can still [delete single items for good](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/delete-items-for-good) where they are allowed to make changes.

When the trash is already empty, the button is greyed out.


## Common questions

### Can I undo emptying the trash?

No. Everything that was in the trash is erased and can't be restored.

### Some items stayed in the trash after I emptied it. Why?

An item that can't be deleted stays in the trash, and the others are deleted anyway; a message tells you so. Reload the page and try again. If the items are still there, contact us.
