# Edit or delete a contact

Click a contact's name to change it. Delete moves it to the trash, but only when no quote or invoice uses it. The two contacts Skileo adds can't be changed or deleted.

## Edit a contact

1. Open “Contacts” in the menu.
2. Click the contact's name, or click the actions button (**⋮**) on its line and choose “Edit”.
3. Make your changes and click “Save changes”.

Your next quotes and invoices use the new details. If you leave the page without saving, your changes are lost.

## Delete a contact

1. Click the actions button (**⋮**) on the contact's line and choose “Delete”. You can also open the contact and choose “Delete” in its actions button (**⋮**).
2. Confirm.

The contact goes to the “Trash”, where you can restore it. See [How the trash works](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/how-the-trash-works).

To delete several contacts at once, tick them in the list and choose “Delete” at the top.

## Contacts you can't delete

- A contact used on a quote or an invoice. The quote or the invoice needs it. Skileo says the contact has quotes or invoices, and nothing is deleted.
- The two contacts Skileo adds, "Sales without invoice" and "Purchase without invoice". They can't be changed either.

## Common questions

### I ticked several contacts and Skileo deleted none. Why?

One of them is used on a quote or an invoice. When this happens, Skileo deletes none of the contacts you ticked. Untick that contact and try again.

### Can I delete a contact after deleting its invoices?

Yes. Invoices in the “Trash” don't count. Quotes are deleted for good, so they don't count either.

### Can I get a deleted contact back?

Yes, from the “Trash”, as long as nobody deleted it for good. See [Restore a deleted item](https://www.skileo.com/help/en/restore-deleted-items).
